1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Velt Services LLC ("Velt", "we", "us"). They cover your use of veltliving.com and the Velt portal, including the mobile app that signs in to it (together, the "portal"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the portal, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the portal.
Valet trash service at an apartment community is provided under Velt's agreement with that property. These terms don't change that agreement. If they conflict about the service at your property, the property agreement controls.
These terms include an arbitration agreement and a class action waiver in section 16. Please read it.
2. What the portal is for
Residents use the portal to receive pickup alerts and courtesy notices, report missed pickups and other concerns, rate service, request additional or bulk pickups, and see offers from local businesses in Near Me. Property teams use it to see their community's service record. Velt team members use it to run routes.
Alerts and status information are there to help you. They depend on your phone, your network, and your notification settings, and they can be late or missed. Please don't rely on them as your only way to know about service at your property.
We may change, pause, or stop any part of the portal.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 to have an account.
- Give accurate information, including your building and unit if you are a resident, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private and don't share your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
- Tell us right away at info@veltliving.com if you think someone else has used your account.
- Property team, Velt team, and sponsor accounts are created by invitation and are for the invited person only.
4. Using the portal responsibly
Please don't:
- break the law, or submit reports you know to be false;
- threaten, harass, or abuse anyone, including Velt team members and your neighbors;
- put other people's private information in reports or photos, such as names, access codes, or license plates;
- try to see another person's account, another property's information, or any part of the portal you aren't meant to reach;
- scrape, probe, overload, or interfere with the portal or its security, or copy or reverse engineer its software;
- resell or commercially use the portal or its content without our written permission.
5. Reports, photos, and anything you submit
You keep ownership of what you submit, such as report text and ratings. You give Velt permission to store, copy, and use it, and to show it to your property team and the Velt team, as needed to run and document the service, resolve your report, and improve the service.
Velt's proof-of-clean photos and service records belong to Velt and are shared with the property under its service agreement.
We may remove content that breaks these terms.
6. Velt's website and software
The website, the portal, the Velt name and logo, and the text, images, and software on them belong to Velt or its licensors. You may use the portal for its intended purpose while your account is active. That permission is personal and can't be transferred.
7. Additional and bulk pickups: price, payment, and refunds
How it works.
- You request a pickup and describe what needs to go.
- Velt reviews it. We may decline or adjust a request we can't safely, lawfully, or practically do. A declined request isn't charged.
- If we can do it, Velt confirms the price and offers dates and time windows. You aren't charged until you receive a payment link.
- Velt emails you the payment link. It is an invoice sent by Stripe to the email address on your account. You pay on Stripe's payment page. Payment is never taken inside the portal or the mobile app, and the portal and app never ask for card numbers. Velt does not see or store your card number.
- When you've paid, the portal alerts you and asks you to choose one of the dates and time windows Velt offered. The pickup is scheduled after you choose.
Items. Items should match your request. If they don't, or can't be handled safely, Velt may leave them and contact you.
Cancellations and refunds.
- You may cancel a paid bulk pickup any time before the date you chose, and you will receive a full refund.
- If Velt cancels, declines after you've paid, or doesn't complete the pickup on the chosen date, you will receive a full refund.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. Your bank or card company decides how long they take to appear.
- To cancel or ask about a refund, email billing@veltliving.com with your name, building, and unit.
The invoice shows the total you will pay.
8. Property teams
Property team accounts let authorized users view their own community's service record, request optional services, and create time-limited, read-only report links for owners or asset managers. These actions do not give property teams access to Velt's administrative controls. Use your access only to manage your community, don't share your login, and don't share residents' information outside your organization except as needed to do your job.
9. Velt team members
Velt team accounts are for authorized personnel only. Taking proof-of-clean photos and having the phone's location checked at the building are part of how Velt verifies service. Any employment or service agreement you have with Velt applies in addition to these terms.
11. Proposals and electronic signatures
When Velt sends a proposal through the portal, typing your name and title and choosing to accept it is your electronic signature. It has the same effect as a handwritten signature to the extent the law allows, including under the federal E-SIGN Act and Florida's Uniform Electronic Transaction Act. By accepting, you agree to do business with Velt electronically. You can ask for a paper copy at any time by emailing info@veltliving.com. Velt keeps a record of your name, title, the time you accepted, and a scrambled (hashed) network identifier, not your network address itself.
12. No promises about the portal itself
The portal and website are provided "as is" and "as available." We don't promise that they will always work, be on time, or be free of errors, and to the extent the law allows we disclaim implied warranties. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be waived. Velt's service commitments at your property come from the property agreement.
13. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Velt isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or lost profits, arising from your use of the portal. Velt's total liability for claims relating to the portal is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Velt in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits liability that can't be limited by law.
14. Responsibility for your own conduct
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover Velt for claims, losses, and reasonable costs that come from content you submit, your misuse of the portal, or your breach of these terms. For sponsors, this includes claims about your listing, offers, and the rights to what you upload.
15. Suspending or ending an account
You can stop using the portal at any time and ask us to close your account at privacy@veltliving.com. Velt may suspend or end an account if these terms are broken, if there's a security risk, if you no longer live or work at the community, or if the property's service ends. Parts of these terms that are meant to continue, such as ownership, refunds owed, and limits on liability, do continue.
16. Arbitration, dispute resolution, and class action waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to go to court and to join a class action.
1. Binding arbitration agreement
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Velt Services LLC ("Velt," "we," or "us") and each user who agrees to these Terms agree to resolve covered disputes through final and binding individual arbitration rather than through litigation in court.
Covered disputes include claims arising out of or relating to these Terms, use of the Velt website, portal, or mobile app, and direct-to-resident purchases made under these Terms. A separately signed property service agreement governs disputes under that agreement; this section does not amend or replace it.
This agreement applies to claims based on contract, tort, statute, or other legal theories, to the extent arbitration is permitted by law.
2. Mandatory informal dispute resolution
Before commencing arbitration, either party must provide written notice of the dispute, including a description of the claim, relevant supporting information, and the relief requested. You can send it to info@veltliving.com.
The parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) calendar days after receipt of written notice.
If the dispute remains unresolved, either party may initiate arbitration in accordance with this section. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking emergency relief when legally necessary or from exercising nonwaivable legal rights.
3. Arbitration administration and procedures
Arbitration shall be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its applicable rules.
- Disputes arising from qualifying consumer transactions shall be governed by the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules.
- Disputes arising from qualifying business-to-business transactions shall be governed by the AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules.
- Applicable AAA supplementary rules governing mass arbitration shall apply when their requirements are met.
Arbitration shall be conducted before one neutral arbitrator unless applicable AAA rules or law require otherwise.
Hearings may occur remotely, through written submissions, or in person, as permitted by the applicable rules and law.
For commercial disputes, the parties agree that any required in-person arbitration hearing shall take place in Volusia County, Florida, unless otherwise agreed or determined under applicable law and AAA rules.
Consumer arbitration location and hearing arrangements shall be determined in accordance with the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules and applicable law.
Arbitration fees, arbitrator compensation, and administrative expenses shall be allocated in accordance with the applicable AAA rules and governing law.
Judgment upon an arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
4. Class action, collective action, and jury trial waiver
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, both parties agree that covered claims shall be brought exclusively in their individual capacities.
Neither party shall initiate or participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action concerning covered disputes, except to the extent that such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
The arbitrator shall have authority to award relief only to the individual party seeking relief, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
To the extent permitted by law, both parties waive any right to a jury trial in covered disputes.
5. Small claims court exception
Notwithstanding the arbitration agreement, either party may bring an eligible individual claim in small claims court, provided that the claim remains within the jurisdiction of that court and proceeds on an individual basis.
6. Emergency and provisional relief
Nothing in this agreement prevents either party from seeking temporary or provisional judicial relief when permitted by law, including relief necessary to protect confidential information, intellectual property, or other legally protected interests.
Seeking such relief shall not, by itself, waive the parties' agreement to arbitrate the underlying dispute.
7. Governing law
This arbitration agreement shall be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act to the extent applicable.
Where state substantive law applies, Florida law shall govern, subject to applicable federal law, conflict-of-laws principles, and any mandatory consumer protections. Florida law also governs the rest of these Terms.
8. Authority of arbitrator
Except for questions concerning the enforceability of the class action waiver, which shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction, the arbitrator shall determine disputes regarding the interpretation, applicability, and enforcement of this arbitration agreement to the extent permitted by law.
9. Severability
If any provision of this section is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
If the class action waiver is determined unenforceable with respect to a particular claim or proceeding that cannot lawfully be arbitrated individually, that claim or proceeding shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction rather than in class arbitration, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
10. Survival
This arbitration agreement shall survive termination, expiration, or cancellation of the applicable customer agreement or account, to the extent permitted by law.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its date. If you keep using the portal after a change, you accept the updated terms.
